@metalmosh6 Some clarifications: “Moors” did not rule “Spain for around 700 years”, only Granada, a region of the deep south, was. Plus the large majority of the population in the Muslim parts of Iberia were natives who converted to Islam, not “Moors” (Arabs and Berbers.)

Flamenco can hardly have any significant “Moorish” influence because it’s only about 200 years old. It does indeed have Gypsy influence, to the point that this music in Spain has become strongly associated with them.

@303justinbieber Its Flamenco music from the Andalucia province, southern Spain. Its influence is Moorish(muslim arab) and Gypsy. Moors ruled Spain for around 700 years then were driven out by christians who later set off to the Americas but Moorish culture stayed in much of southern Spain then Gypsy influence came. But dont forget that there is other music from Spain besides Flamenco, which is only a one part of spanish culture
