who is the best latin music artist/singer?

i personally think its enrique iglesias but what’s yalls opinion

Ricky Martin

Does anyone know of any christian music artists?

All I’ve been hearing is new christian rock, or people like Steven Curtis Chapman (no disrespect intended), and I can’t stand it anymore. Does anybody know of any christian music artists who aren’t afraid to use their voices and do stuff like techno pop,hip hop,soul/house, blues or latin pop? With really good music?

Have you tried listening to Toby Mac?

Pepe Aguilar “Que te ha dado esa mujer”

Courtesy of Wikipedia.org. Pepe Aguilar (born José Aguilar in February 19, 1968, San Antonio, Texas) is an American singer of Mexican descent who sings ranchera music. Composer. Singer. Musician. National charro champion. Movie star. Entertainer.
Inarguably one of the greatest artists of his time in the Latin music genre, 5-time Grammy winning artist Pepe Aguilar is an impressive master of fusion with an undisputed capacity to inspire audiences.
Blending traditional Mariachi sounds with contemporary pop music styling, Aguilars career is one that spans nearly 35 years and began alongside his parents, entertainers who traveled the Americas with their family. The son of recording legends Antonio Aguilar and Flor Silvestre, Pepe Aguilar was influenced and supported by his parents to start singing at a young age, gracing the stage for the first time at the age of three and performing at New York’s Madison Square Garden two years later.
Aguilars early foray into the music world as a solo artist was rooted in rock music, but he later turned back to the melodies that embraced his heritage, fusing the traditional sounds of his youth with a modern, pop sound and becoming a strong identity in the Latin scene, in addition to developing a successful acting career. Among other awards that make Pepe Aguilar the most recognized singer in the history of his genre are five Grammys and twelve Premios Lo Nuestro. His biggest albums include 1998’s Por Mujeres Como Tu, which spent nearly a year on the Latin and Mexican charts, 1999’s Por una Mujer Bonita, which won him a Grammy for Best Mexican/Mexican-American Album, and 2005s Historias de Mi Tierra which won a Grammy for Best Mexican/Mexican-American Album and a Latin Grammy for Best Ranchero Album. His 2006 release, 100% Mexicano, won him a Grammy for Best Mexican/Mexican-American Album and Enamorado, released in 2006, earned him a Latin Grammy for Best Ranchero Album.
With over 16 studio albums (plus multiple compilations) to his name and more than 10 million records sold, Aguilars latest release, Homenaje, pays tribute to the original Charro de Mexico (his father, Antonio Aguilar) with 13 of the most popular hits made famous by his father.

HEINEKEN $20,000 MURAL SEARCH WINNER

Christian Cortes Selected to Design Latin Music-Inspired Murals in NY, Miami and LA
White Plains, NY — September 20, 2007 — Colombian artist, Christian Cortes from Jackson Heights, Queens was declared the winner of the Heineken Murals Search 2007, the nation’s premier beer importer announced today. In August, Heineken USA launched a local search to identify a skilled Latino artist for its national murals project themed, “Inspirado por la Música Latina,” where Hispanic artists were invited to submit a unique piece of artwork capturing the energetic and inspirational rhythm and legends of Latin music.

The contest culminated in a private event and exhibition last night at the cultural epicenter, P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, an affiliate of The Museum of Modern Art. During this private event, more than 30 local finalists had the opportunity to showcase their talent to leaders in the Hispanic Arts and local communities. The highlight of the evening was the announcement of Christian Cortes as the winner of the Heineken Murals Search 2007, “Inspirado por la Musica Latina.”

Christian Cortes was awarded $20,000 for his artistic contributions for the design of four large-scale Heineken murals to be placed in New York, Miami and Los Angeles and unveiled this fall. Entries were judged by a panel of knowledgeable industry leaders: Julián Zugazagoitia, Executive Director of El Museo del Barrio; Emely Socolov, Executive Director of Mano a Mano; and Crystal Chaparro, Creative Director of The Association of Hispanic Arts. All entries were judged based on originality, creativity and interpretation of the theme, “Inspirado por la Música Latina.”

“I feel honored that Heineken has chosen me to design their Latin-Music inspired murals” said Cortes. “I hope my interpretation of the theme can represent the richness of our Latin culture and leave a lasting impression on our local neighborhoods. Latin music has always motivated me to paint and I hope my paintings might motivate the communities in New York, Los Angeles and Miami.”

For years, the Heineken Murals have displayed the works of some very talented Hispanic artists in predominately Hispanic neighborhoods of major cities across the country. These murals provide each local community with a very special piece of art that celebrates Latino culture.

“We were excited with the extraordinary breadth and quality of art work that was submitted by Hispanic artists across the tri-state area,” said Paul Smailes, Hispanic Brand Manager for Heineken USA. “We are proud to have the opportunity to work with Christian Cortes who brought a powerful and contemporary interpretation of the Latin music theme, and are excited to exhibit Christian’s vision in Latino neighborhoods in New York, Miami & Los Angeles in the fall .”
